The role
Are you ready to make a real impact on the Welsh environment? We’re offering up to six exciting fixed-term opportunities for passionate individuals to join Natural Resources Wales (NRW) as Enforcement Officers – a role designed to build the enforcement specialists of the future.
Thanks to dedicated Welsh Government funding, these roles will give you the chance to be part of our mission to protect Wales’s natural resources. You could find yourself working anywhere from the dramatic valleys of South Wales to the wild landscapes of Snowdonia, the Cambrian Mountains, or the stunning Pembrokeshire coast. Whichever region you’re based in, you’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with experienced teams tackling complex environmental offences – with a particular focus on fisheries, and potential exposure to waste and water regulation too.
This isn’t just another office job. You’ll be out in the field investigating serious incidents, helping prevent environmental harm, collecting enforcement evidence, and supporting wider NRW operations. You'll also have opportunities to work across operational teams, giving you valuable insight and a broader understanding of how we deliver environmental protection across Wales.
We’re looking for individuals who have successfully completed both the Level 3 City & Guilds Environmental Conservation Apprenticeship and NRW’s Enforcement Apprenticeship. A full UK driving licence is essential.
This is a chance to grow your skills, make a difference, and help shape the future of environmental enforcement in Wales. If you’re ready to step up and protect the places that matter most – we want to hear from you.
As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to an NRW office within the place base / location above and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.
